Who we are
The Akin Elementary PTO is a nonprofit, volunteer-run group open to all parents and guardians—membership is automatic! Together with teachers and staff, we enrich every student’s education, host events, and strengthen the school community through programs and open communication.
MISSION
Our mission is to support every student’s educational journey by funding and organizing programs that enhance learning, spark school spirit, and connect our community. Through fundraising, events, and strong family–school partnerships, we help every Aviator soar.

We envision a connected, inclusive school community where every family is engaged, every teacher feels supported, and every Aviator has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We fund programs, improve spaces, celebrate staff, and roll up our sleeves to help at every event. At Akin Elementary PTO, we’re proud to be part of what makes our school and community thrive. We work closely with our principal to identify the most important needs of the school, students, and staff—making sure every dollar and every hour of volunteer time has the greatest possible impact.
With the support of our community, we’ve been able to invest in programs and improvements that directly benefit our students and staff. Here’s a look at some of our key projects and programs.
We enhance our campus with projects that benefit all students, from a walking trail and playground shade to upcoming upgrades outside classrooms and a brand-new playground.
Our teachers give their all every day, and we make sure they feel the love. Through thoughtful treats and celebrations, we thank them for everything they do for our students.
Our Winter Wonderland Party fills the season with joy, laughter, and festive fun—giving students and families a magical celebration to remember.
Students explore a variety of careers through engaging presentations from community members, sparking curiosity about future possibilities.
Field trips give our students exciting, real-world experiences that spark learning beyond the classroom. We help make these adventures possible and memorable for every Aviator.
We help teachers bring their creative ideas to life by funding special supplies and equipment that enhance learning and spark student engagement.
Field Day is all about fun, fitness, and friendly competition—bringing our Aviators together for an energetic day full of games, teamwork, and smiles.
A fun, competitive event where students develop problem-solving skills through math-based strategy games.
We bring science, tech, engineering, and math to life with fun hands-on activities that inspire our Aviators to explore and discover.
Movie Night brings our school community together for fun, family-friendly entertainment—creating memories and connections beyond the classroom.
Our Read-a-thon encourages students to dive into books, celebrate reading, and build skills—all while raising funds to support our school’s programs.
A special celebration honoring our graduating 5th graders as they prepare to soar into middle school.
Where does funding come from?
